The Spanish striker leaves for Ligue 1 after weeks of speculation.

It’s official: Jese Rodriguez – a once highly-rated Real Madrid forward – has now quit Los Blancos for PSG after weeks of speculation linking him with a move to France.

With Alvaro Morata returning to Santiago Bernabeu, Jese’s time with the Champions League winners appeared numbered. On Monday, the Spanish giants made it off official, announcing his exit on their website.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed the transfer of Jesé Rodríguez,” Les Merengues’ statement read.

“The club would like to thank him for his years of dedication and professionalism from the academy through to the first team and we would like to wish him luck in the new stage of his career.”

The 23-year-old will now move to Parc des Princes on a five-year deal. However, unlike Morata’s exit, Jese holds little hope of returning to Madrid due to the lack of a buy-back clause.

The Spaniard becomes Les Parisiens’ fifth signing of the summer, and Unai Emery’s second, with the Ligue 1 champions reportedly paying £21.2m for the striker.

"I am delighted to join Paris Saint-Germain, who have become one of Europe's most competitive clubs," Jese told PSG’s official website.

"Like Paris Saint-Germain, I have big ambitions for the coming seasons and it will be a great pleasure to work under the direction of Unai Emery, who has developed an excellent reputation in Spain, and across Europe, for his quality as a coach. I can't wait to begin this next challenge of my career."

Jese will join fellow PSG newcomers Grzegorz Krychowiak, Thomas Meunier, Hatem Ben Arfa and Giovani Lo Celso for the upcoming Ligue 1 season.
