The Gunners have suffered another blow in their chase of a Leicester City star.

Earlier in the summer transfer window, Arsenal went after Leicester City’s star striker Jamie Vardy after his exploits in front of goal last season helped the Foxes win the English Premier League.

Of course, that chase didn’t end well for the Gunners, as the English striker snubbed the London giants for a King Power Stadium stay.

Arsene Wenger didn’t stop there, as he soon turned his attention to Vardy’s team-mate Riyad Mahrez, last season’s PFA Player of the Year winner.

However, despite previous claims that the Algerian has already agreed on an Emirates Stadium switch, Claudio Ranieri has now all but killed speculation of a transfer.

BeIN Sports caught up with the English champions and their Italian boss whilst on their pre-season tour. Speaking to the broadcasters, the Tinker crushed any rumors of a Mahrez exit, insisting he’s 100% that the 24-year-old will stay.

Leicester may have already lost N’Golo Kante to Chelsea, but keeping Mahrez and Vary – in addition with their new signings – will gravely increase their chances of retaining the title.

For Arsenal, however, this means it is back to the drawing board. Having already missed out on Gonzalo Higuain, time is running down for the north London giants in the transfer window.
