Team news

PSG

Like several of Europe's other big clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Manchester City, PSG will have a new man on the bench for the upcoming season. The club's wealthy owners have made no secret of their desire to see Les Parisiens join Europe's elite, and although Laurent Blanc ensured that PSG remained on top in the domestic league, he was unable to help them achieve their Champions League ambitions.

To that end, the former French international was replaced by Sevilla's Unai Emery earlier this summer. Emery has made his name as a Europa League specialist, guiding Los Rojiblancos to an impressive three straight titles in the continent's second tier competition. PSG fans will be hoping that that same "Midas Touch" will extend to France as Les Parisiens hope to soon overcome their Champions League hoodoo after years of frustration and disappointment.

It's been a good pre-season thus far for the reigning Ligue 1 champions. PSG easily overpowered both Inter and Real Madrid 3-1 in their first two games and will be hoping to make it three wins out of three in their final ICC match later today. Les Parisiens will be coming into this match with almost a full-strength squad available, including stars like Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani. The only notable absence could be Brazilian star defender Thiago Silva, who suffered an injury during the team's recent win over Real Madrid.

Leicester City

Meanwhile, although Leicester City have already lost one of their key players this summer, the Foxes thus far have managed to hang on to two more. N'Golo Kante has swapped the King Power Stadium for Chelsea, but Jamie Vardy opted to turn down a £20 million move to Arsenal to remain with Ranieri's side for the near future after signing a four year contract extension. As for Riyad Mahrez, the Algerian star's position is still up in the air as he continues to be linked with a move elsewhere, but for now, he's still a Leicester player.

The Foxes will be participating in the upcoming Champions League, which will be only their fourth appearance in European competition. As such, the reigning Premier League champions have made some signings this summer, spending a combined £29 million to bring in Nampalys Mendy from Nice and Ahmed Musa from Russian outfit CSKA Moscow.

Vardy has reportedly linked up with the squad, but given that the English ace is just returning from his holiday, it remains to be seen as to whether the 29-year-old will actually feature in today's game - especially considering that he is also recovering from a wrist procedure. Given that this American-based competition allows a whopping 11 subs per game, expect players like Christian Fuchs, Shinji Okazaki, Robert Huth, and Marcin Wasilewski to get more game-time after only playing for about 30 minutes during their victory against Celtic.
