Team news

Juventus

Juventus come into this game having concluded their ICC tour with a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala and new signing Mehdia Benatia. The reigning Serie A champions, who made it a fifth straight Scudetto title, have made it clear to the rest of Italy - and Europe - that making it a sixth this upcoming season will not be enough.

Having spent a whopping €90 million to prise Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, plus €32 million for Roma's Miralem Pjanic, the Bianconeri are clearly shooting for something more than just the Serie A title. Their objective is to as far in the Champions League as possible, with the hope to end their decades-long wait for European glory next year. But with that far on the horizon, Allegri's side are looking to integrate their new signings into the fold as quickly as possible, and Higuain, along with fellow new signing Dani Alves, has already started training at the club's home ground.

Back to pre-season - Juve next will take on West Ham in London, followed by a meeting with Koln in Cologne. Both games could potentially see Higuain and Alves feature for their new club for the first time. La Vecchia Signora conclude their summer preparations with a warm-up against the Primavera side before the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign kicks off with an entertaining tie against Fiorentina on August 21st.

South China

Currently under the guidance of Brazilian tactician Jose Ricardo Rambo, South China finished third in the Hong Kong Premier League last season. As a result, they just missed out on qualifying for the AFC Cup playoffs for the 2016/2017 term.

Nicknamed the Caroliners, they are by far the most successful side in the Hong Kong Premier League. So far, they have clinched a whopping 41 league titles, ten FA Cup wins, three League Cups, and 31 Senior Shields. Also known as "Shaolin Temple", Saturday's hosts have had some notable names play for them in the not-so-distant past: Manchester United's Nicky Butt concluded his professional career there during the 2010/2011 term.

One key player for South China is Cameroonian attacker Mahma Awal. The 25-year-old, who is known for his pace and trickery, began his youth career with French side Auxerre before moving to the now-defunct Guangdong Sunray Cave in 2009, which was playing in China League One. After six seasons in the second tier, he transferred to his current club in January of last year.
