The fastest man in the world added Mexican club Chivas to his list of favorite teams, after voicing his support for Manchester United years ago.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is a big football fan, and his latest promotional event gave some Mexican fans reason to believe it.

The fastest man in the world spoke to Mexican newspaper Record about Liga MX's side Chivas, stating he will add the Jalisco-based club his favorite teams in the world. The Jamaican star was also amazed by the fact that Chivas plays exclusively with Mexican players, rejecting the idea of having foreign players in their roster.

"Wow! Only local players? And they're still one of the most winning sides over there? Well, keep it up Chivas!" Bolt stated.

Bolt, who wasn't aware that Javier "Chicharito" Hernández had his first shot at the big time with Guadalajara, kept on praising the team's efforts to promote Mexican youngsters.

"So, they generate and promote their country's most talented players? That's amazing," Bolt added.

Bolt's football fanatism has been well documented over the years. He's a big Manchester United fan, and he has often stated he wants to play for the Red Devils when his track-running days are over.

Back in 2012, Manchester United gave Bolt a team jersey with his Olympic record on the back of his shirt.

The Jamaican star has also befriended players such as Sergio Aguero and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese footballer has been praised by Bolt every time he talks about the sport.
