Manchester City and Manchester United are set to clash on Monday, as Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will go head-to-head in an anticipated match for the International Champions Cup.

However, new Sky Blues' boss has played down the tension and rivalry between himself and the Portuguese manager.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the 45-year-old coach shared his opinions ahead of the long-awaited reunion with the former Real Madrid chief.

"We are educated people, of course I will shake his hand. Why shouldn't I? We are polite guys. I want to win. So does he.

"It's a friendly, just a friendly."

Guardiola also had words of praise for the Red Devils, telling reporters

"I believe that with this coach (Mourinho) and good players, they will be a good team."I'm sure they will be stronger than last season."

This will be the first Manchester derby in history to be played outside of England.
