Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has broken his silence regarding the Lewandowski-to-Real Madrid rumors.

The former Real Madrid boss has revealed that the Bundesliga giants will not sell the Poland international to his former club. The 27-year-old has been in fine form for the Bavarians since arriving at the Allianz Arena from in 2014 after his contract with rivals Borussia Dortmund had expired.

Last season, Lewandowski scored 42 goals in all competitions for the German giants. In the league, he scored 30 times in 32 appearances, a performance that steered them to their 26th Bundesliga title.

He has since become a top transfer target for Los Blancos but the Champions League-winning tactician has refused to let him go. Speaking to German sports publication Sportbild, the 57-year-old said:

“Real Madrid have many fantastic players, including (Karim) Benzema, (Gareth) Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real don’t even need Lewandowski,

“And even if they did, Bayern would not sell Lewandowski. Why should we let go one of the best strikers in the world voluntarily?”

Lewa has scored a total of 67 goals in 100 appearances in all competitions for Bayern since arriving from BVB. With such impressive statistics, there is a good reason why the Bundesliga champions are reluctant to sell him.
