According to The Sun, Sane will pen a four-year deal that will make him the second most expensive German player.

Several clubs fought hard to secure the services of up-and-coming German starlet Leroy Sane, but according to The Sun, Manchester City have beaten out the competition to land the Schalke ace.

Sane, who is only 20, is in line to become the second most expensive signing for a German player, with the Citizens ready to splash £42m on the youngster. Only Mesut Ozil (£42.5m) cost more when he signed for Arsenal.

The Citizens are expected to hand the German a £100,000-per-week salary package, with the 20-year-old tipped to put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Leroy Sane, Schalke 04, Bundesliga

Sane, who played for only 11 minutes with die Mannschaft in UEFA Euro 2016, handed in a transfer request to his current Bundesliga employers, with the hope of forcing a move.

The attacking midfielder scored 9 goals last term for Schalke prior to being named in Germany’s 23-man squad for the European Championship.

Albeit his performance n France was limited to only one late cameo, he did enough last season to grab the attention of Europe’s elite. Sane will join Nolito as one of Pep Guardiola’s marquee signing since taking over.
