The Sporting Lisbon ace was a hero for Portugal in the European Championship, and has thus attracted interest from the Premier League.

The heroics of Rui Patricio in Portugal’s UEFA Euro 2016-winning campaign has landed interest in the shot-stopper, as The Sun report that the goalie could make a switch to the English Premier League this summer.

According to the British tabloid, Patricio – 28 – has landed on the radar of Everton, as Ronald Koeman is eager to sign a proven custodian before the upcoming 2016/17 season kicks off.

Patricio, who currently plies his trade at Sporting Lisbon, put in an array of impressive showings – the final against France in particular – to help his side lift the European Championship. As written by The Sun, the 28-year-old is now “desperate” to move to England.

Manchester City and England veteran Joe Hart is one goalkeeper rumored to be on the Toffees’ radar. The Three Lions custodian has long been in between the sticks at the Etihad; however, links with PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet have questions being asked about Hart’s future.

Nonetheless, Patricio – named the best goalkeeper of UEFA Euro 2016 – could only cost Everton £6m, a bargain for a custodian of his experience.
