Team news

Fans hoping to see Bayern Munich’s star-studded squad take to the field may be left disappointed, as several big-name players are yet to report for the club.

The game won’t lack world-class players, with the likes of Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Philipp Lahm, Xabi Alonso and Javi Martinez all expected to take part in the weekend friendly.

However, several of Bayern’s players are yet to return to the club, having participated in UEFA Euro 2016. This means the German giants will be without all their Mannschaft aces, with Jerome Boateng, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, and summer signing Mats Hummels being unavailable.

Robert Lewandowski is also still on holiday, whilst Portuguese starlet Renato Sanches won’t make his Bayern Munich debut anytime soon, having gone all the way to the final to lift the European Championship.
