Raul believes there is life at Real Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid legend Raul has revealed that the Spanish giants will be successful even if their all-time goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave. The Portugal star, who led his country to Euro 2016 glory in France a week ago, had been linked with a move out of the Santiago Bernabeu for the past few seasons. But Raul believes that if the celebrated player decides to leave, the Madrid-based club will not fall short of their glory both locally and internationally.

Raul played alongside CR7 for one season at the Santiago Bernabeu and the two are said to have a solid relationship between them. Ronaldo joined Los Blancos in 2009 from Manchester United, and has since won one La liga title, two Copa Del Reys, one Supercopa de Espana, two UEFA Champions League titles, one UEFA Super Cup title, and one FIFA Club World Cup title with the Spanish outfit.

But speaking to AS, Raul believes there is life at Santiago Bernabeu after Ronaldo’s exit. He said:

''There is definitely life after Ronaldo.

''What Cristiano has been doing is huge, but Madrid have a great team with players who can still offer more. The important things is that they keep working as a unit.

''Cristiano has been the top scorer for the last seven seasons or so. Nobody expected him to perform like this, he has an incredible desire to meet his objectives and keep working.

''I have a good relationship with him. And there is a mutual admiration. It's a shame that we played together for just one year, but it was an important year and we had a connection.''
