After eight years of service, Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has left Anfield. The Slovakian has officially joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce, as confirmed by the club. He arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday to put pen to paper after passing his medical, but the announcement of the deal was delayed as the two parties negotiated personal terms with the player.

Although the details of the deal are scantly, the player is said to have been signed for five million pounds. Skrtel will be officially unveiled to the media on Friday.
The 31-year-old made 320 appearances for the Reds since 2008 and scored 18 goals in the process. He won 157 matches with the Merseyside club, lost 86 and drew 77 during his 8-year-stay at Anfield.
