The UEFA Euro 2016's Best XI is made of four Portuguese players, three Germans, two Frenchmen and two Welsh. Controversially, Gareth Bale is not part of the selected pair from Wales. The 13-man panel of technical observers involved Alain Giresse, Sir Alex Ferguson and even David Moyes.
Commenting on the Euro 2016 Team of the Tournament, UEFA coaching ambassador Alex Ferguson explained on UEFA.com:
"After quite a bit of deliberation, the observers chose a team that features the best performing players from the best performing teams at UEFA EURO 2016."
Defending every single pick, the legendary ex-Manchester United coach continued:
"We have chosen dominant central defenders; full-backs who can defend and attack; deep-lying midfielders who can control the game and dynamic, flexible and creative attackers, all of whom have the ability to create and score goals. We believe that the selected XI represents the best of the competition."
