Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has joined Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed signing Poland international midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak on a four-year deal. The 26-year-old was part of Poland’s squad that was eliminated from the Euro 2016 by Portugal in the quarter-finals on post-match penalties.

Les Parisiens are believed to have acquired the services of the defensive midfielder for 34 million pounds but the club has not released the official figure. Krychowiak is now set to link up with his former boss Unai Emery in France. Emery was the manager of Sevilla when the Poland international played for the La Liga outfit.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed by the French giants, the midfielder told the club's website:

''I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris St Germain.

''The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision. I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible. I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career.”

However, he is not new to club football in France, having previously played for French outfits Bordeaux, Reims and Nantes before moving to Spain to join Sevilla, which is the only non-French club he has played for in his senior footballing career. He made his debut for Poland in 2008 and has since featured for his country 39 times, scoring two goals in the process.
