The 34-year old striker spoke about the part José Mourinho played to make this deal happen. Terms of the agreement between the team & Zlatan were not disclosed.

The day most Manchester United fans were dreaming about for the past few months finally came, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic was seen wearing the Red Devils' jersey for the first time.

The Swedish striker was given a warm welcome by his new team, and even hours before the transfer was revealed to the public, a series of hints were dropped in the city of Manchester, including a rather Zlatan-esque billboard.

Later, the team unleashed a 10-second video in their Twitter feed, asking fans to prepare for #ZlatanTime.

And once the footballer completed a medical at the AON Training Complex, the team made it official: Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now a Manchester United player.

In a statement published by the team's website, coach José Mourinho praised the Swedish ace's skills, which will come in handy for a team that will try to bring back the glory days.

"Ibra is one of the best strikers in the world and a player who always gives 100 per cent. He has won the most important league championships in the world of football, now he has the opportunity to play in the best league in the world and I know he will grasp this opportunity and will work hard to help the team win titles," Mourinho stated.

In his first interview as a Red Devil, Zlatan compared his signing to the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, while admitting that José Mourinho played a huge role to make his signing possible.

"It's like the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, they said it would never happened and it happened. The puzzle came together and we're all happy. I have great memories with José, and the only regret was that I was only for a short time. Wherever we go, we win, and we will win," Zlatan added.
