Some of the UEFA Euro 2016 stars showed respect for Turkey after 41 were killed and more than 230 were left injured.

Tributes and respect have been pouring in from the entire world for Turkey, as the European nation recently fell victims to terrorist, with an attack being launched in Istanbul at the Ataturk airport.

Sadly, 41 people lost their lives in the heinous incident, whilst more than 230 were left injured, as revealed by Turkish authorities (per the BBC).

Several big names in the world of football were quick to show support for Turkey in these sad times, with many players from the ongoing UEFA Euro 2016 tournament tweeting their best wishes for Istanbul.

Leading the tributes was Portugal ace Nani, who will be in action on Thursday when his country take on Poland in the quarter-finals. The 29-year-old Fenerbahce attacker who is on the brink of joining Valencia posted “Pray for Istanbul” on Facebook in the wake of the attack.

Turkish superstars were also vocal with their anger towards this recent attack, with national team captain Arda Turan tweeting: “Again, our lungs burned. We're thankful for my Turkey. Damn the cause this pain!”

Other football stars to tweet their prayers for Istanbul were Mesut Ozil, who’ll be in action on Saturday vs. Italy. The Arsenal superstar was joined by former Gunners and current Sunderland goalie Vito Mannone.

Similarly to the attacks on Paris and Brussels, the BBC report that PM Binali Yildirim claims that signs point to the so-called Islamic State as the culprits, thought the militant group are yet to claim responsibility.
