'La Pulga' will be fighting to become the tournament's top scorer. As of now, he trails Chilean striker Edu Vargas by one goal.

Lionel Messi knows there could be no more chances for Argentina to win a title, so he wants to take the Copa América Centenario trophy home and end a 23-year drought for La Albiceleste.

During a pre-match press conference,"La Pulga" referred to the team's form prior to this match, and tried to play cool when asked about a possible loss and what it would mean to them.

"I don't know if it would be such a failure (to lose), but it will surely a big disappointment for us. I don't know if this is the last chance we'll have to win it, so we have to take our chances and see how things go. I want to change history and finally call myself champion with Argentina," Messi stated.

The Argentine ace became La Albiceleste's all-time top striker on Tuesday after scoring a free kick against the U.S.

Barcelona's superstar took time to analyze their opponents on Sunday. Despite having played against them during the group stage of this tournament, Messi believes this will be an entirely different game.

"We go way back. We know what they're capable of doing. They like to control the ball, and when they don't have it, they love to apply high-pressure. It will be somehow different than the first game of the tournament, but we'll try to defend our ground and go from there," Messi added.

Both teams will have a training session at MetLife Stadium later today, setting the stage for the big game tomorrow.
