Captain Wayne Rooney has reportedly told Jamie Vardy to advice his wife Rebekah Vardy to go slow on Twitter ahead of England’s last 16 match against Iceland at the Euros in France. Rebekah is known to be vocal on social media and has found herself in trouble with many English fans, mostly Leicester supporters.
She was most recently vocal about Jamie Vardy’s decision to extend his contract with Leicester City, snubbing the Gunners in the process. Prior to the expected move for the 29-year-old from the King Power Stadium to the Emirates Stadium, Rebekah had been accused by a section of LCFC fans of trying to convince the Premier League Player of the Season to cross over to North London. After Leicester had announced that the England international had agreed a four-year deal with the Foxes, Rebekah took to Twitter to hit back at her critics indirectly:
I wonder how many of you that slagged me/us off unnecessarily will now have the balls to apologise? Embarrassing....

And thank you to all the Arsenal and 'genuine' Leicester fans (which I know is the majority) who have been completely supportive!

Before things get out of control, Captain Rooney is said to have had a talk with Vardy to advice his wife to maintain her cool in order to maintain national unity and support for the Three Lions, as reported by The Times. Here is an extract from the story published by the renowned online newspaper:
''Wayne Rooney has advised England’s less experienced players and their partners to avoid social media and to attempt to keep a low profile before Monday’s round-of-16 match.
''It is understood that the captain and other senior players have spoken to Jamie Vardy about the prominence of his new wife, Rebekah, in the media while there is also concern in the squad about the amount of abuse Raheem Sterling is receiving online.''
