Zlatan has retired from international football after Sweden’s defeat to Belgium at the Euro 2016.

Swedish football god Zlatan Ibrahimovic has officially hanged up his boots for his country following the 1-0 defeat to Belgium in their last match of Euro 2016 Group E. The 34-year-old had announced earlier this week that he would retire from international football after Sweden’s last match at this year’s edition of the European Championship. 

Now that the Blue and Yellows have been bundled out of the competition, Sweden fans will no longer get the chance to see the celebrated star donning their jersey in a competitive match. There was a moment of sadness on Twitter at the final whistle of the Group E match as football fans from all divides spared a moment to hail the former PSG man, who is reportedly on the verge of signing for Premier League side Manchester United on a one-year renewable deal.
