Following the 1-1 draw between Iceland and Portugal, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was pounded with criticism for his reaction at the end of the match.

They once again made it look like Ronaldo was arrogant, covering up the actual truth. Television footage showed the three-time Ballon D'Or winner ignoring Gunnarsson's request for his shirt. Reports also claimed that the footballer said "who are you?" to the Cardiff City man. La Liga striker took the press by storm, making headlines around the world for his childish sportsmanship.

However, there is always two sides to a story, as Ronaldo did indeed swap shirts with the Iceland midfielder. After the match Gunnarsson denied any truth to the Ronaldo rumors flooding the press, stating:

"He said 'inside' [the tunnel], there was no problem

"He wasn't asking who I was. He's not like that as a person, even though I don't know him. I asked him for his shirt and he said 'inside'. The rumours are not true.

"It's something I wanted to do. I am a big Manchester United fan and he played for Manchester United so that's why I wanted to change shirts with him."
