The Costa Rican goalkeeper was ruled out of this summer's Copa America after his ongoing Achilles injury.

According to Marca, the Tico will have to undergo heel operation due to the damage.

The 29-year-old Los Blancos' shot-stopper ended his season in a stunning fashion, lifting his first ever Champions League trophy. However, Navas was in great discomfort during the last stretch of the 2015/2016 season after injuring his Achilles tendon back in early May. The Costa Rican waited until the end of the season to see the extent of the damage, as he now faces surgery, which will take place on June 9. Keylor-Navas

The former Levante keeper traveled to Amsterdam to meet up with Dr. Cornelius Van Dijk, who informed the player that his best option would be immediate surgery.

Real Madrid has issued an official medical report which confirmed the operation on Keylor Navas.

"It has been decided that the player will undergo a minimally invasive endoscopy in his left heel. The surgery will take place on 9 June in Madrid by Drs Van Dijk, Pedro Luis Ripoli, and Mariano de Prado, under the supervision of Real Madrid medical service, Sanitas."

The Tico has been suffering from this same injury, keeping him out of last year's CONCACAF Gold Cup as well. In addition, Keylor Navas will be replaced by Deportivo Saprissa's Danny Carvajal for this tournament.
