Iceland boss has thrown a jibe towards one of the most celebrated footballers on the planet ahead of the Euro 2016.

The manager of Iceland’s national football team has thrown a dart at the Real Madrid and Portugal duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe on the country’s debut at the Euro 2016. Lars Lagerback, a Swede by nationality, told NRK Sport (as per AS English):

"Portugal have one of the best players in the world (Cristiano) but he's also an excellent actor. We've some great Portuguese movies. In the final of the Champions League against Atlético we saw another performance from someone (Pepe) who could be in Hollywood".

He was refering to Pepe’s diving antics during the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid in Milan. During the heated match, Pepe was seen writhing in ‘pain’ on the ground in an attempt to have Filipe Luis booked, yet there was no serious contact between the two players.

The 67-year-old boss then added;

"I really don't have any time for this sort of behavior and would welcome post match video evidence so these type of behavior can be punished retrospectively.

Watch the five major incidents when Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of diving.

Call it mind games or anything else, but his comments have generated the right momentum for the clash on 14th June, four days after the official kick off of the European tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo is fighting to pass a late fitness test in time for his country’s opening match, and would want to silence the former Sweden and Nigeria boss with his goal-scoring capabilities.
