After Atletico Madrid's painful Champions League final loss to local rivals Real Madrid, Diego Simeone has insisted on certain conditions if the Rojiblancos want him to continue as boss.

El Cholo confesses it has been a 'failure' to end two campaigns trophyless, despite reaching two finals in the last two years.

Simeone's contract with Atletico Madrid runs until 2020, but the Argentine claimed he will only stay at the Vincente Calderon if they can guarantee various top level signings.

One of the players on his mind for a summer transfer move is Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan forward is flattered by El Cholo's interest but points out he still has a contract with the French club.

Speaking from the Uruguay’s pre-Copa America camp, Cavani admitted he is aware of the interest by Champions League runners-up.

“They’re a competitive team that have demonstrated an interest in me and that gives me a lot of joy, because it’s nice when teams show an interest.

“It’s been demonstrated by [Atletico’s] president, manager and by Diego [Godin]. Looking further ahead, you never know.

“But today my reality is that I am a PSG player and I have to respect that club until the final time I put on the shirt.”

The 29-year old footballer has netted  81 goals in 148 appearances for the club and has three Ligue 1 medals to his name.

Will Cavani ditch Paris Saint-Germain to become a Rojiblanco?
