Ahead of Euro 2016, the Bayern Munich star showed that even he is capable of committing atrocious blunders.

With Euro 2016 right around the corner, due to kick off on June 10, Austrian defender David Alaba committed an embarrassing blunder, one which is definitely not one of his finest moments.

The Bayern Munich ace, who was in action late on Tuesday in a friendly against Malta, scored an outrageous own goal whilst sporting the captain’s armband. Leading the match 2-0, the 23-year-old handed the away side hope of pulling off a comeback.

Receiving the ball in his own team’s penalty box, Alaba made a miscalculated back-pass to the goalie only to realize that the goal was all but empty, with the custodian standing at the far post. The ball crept over the line; nonetheless, the home side luckily held out to eventually grab the win.
