The Brazilian defender still has one year left in his contract with the 2015-2016 La Liga champions, but a deal is set to be reached soon.

Dani Alves' link with Barcelona could be coming to an end soon, as the Brazilian right back has started negotiating a contract with Serie A champions Juventus.

According to Juventus' exec Giuseppe Marotta, the controversial defender could be set to sign a deal with the bianconeri in the following days, as Barcelona have given him the green light to talk with La Vecchia Signora's officers.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Marotta hinted that a deal could be reached in the following days.

"I can confirm that negotiations with Dani Alves are on the right track - we are satisfied. We are very optimistic," the team's exec stated.

Alves has one year left in his contract with Los Blaugranas, but sources close to the negotiation revealed that the team would let the player leave on a free transfer, so that they can save Alves' 5.3 million euro salary.

The Brazilian ace has won 23 trophies with Barcelona since he joined the team in 2008.

Marotta even added Juventus will also try to convince Javier Mascherano to join them once Alves is on board, but the Argentinean's signing is more doubtful to happen.

"We are also addressing the issue of Mascherano, but this negotiation, as well as Andre Gomes', will be more complicated," Marotta added.

Alves was involved in some controversies during the recently concluded season. First, he labelled Spanish journalists as "liars", and months later he was criticized by some of the team's execs for downplaying Los Cules' UEFA Champions League elimination against Atlético Madrid.
