Premier League giants Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their hunt for Alvaro Morata’s signature. The Red Devils are plotting to build a strong squad under coach Jose Mourinho as they hope to compete for major titles next season, except the Champions League due to lack of qualification.
Mourinho is said to eyeing several key players, and one of them is Juventus’ star Morata. The 23-year-old Spaniard scored 12 goals in 47 appearances for the Old Lady last season and is looking at the possibility of reuniting with his former coach Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford..jpg)
In an interview with Spanish publication AS, the ex-Real Madrid man revealed:
“There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only by the contract. I think for my characteristics the Premier League would also be a great destination.
“I’m not saying that you want me to go to Juventus, a team that I can only speak well of. I say going to the Premier League would not be a step backwards.
“With what I have learned in Italy, if I have the chance to learn something more in England I think it would make me a more complete, better player.
“I am 23 years old and what I want is to progress, play, and learn from the best.”
However, Premier League sides could face stiff competition from Los Blancos, who are said to be interested in bringing him back to the Santiago Bernabeu next season. Manchester Evening News also reports that Arsenal are interested in securing his services in a bid to improve their squad ahead of what is expected to be the most competitive season in the history of the Premier League.
Morata has previously played for Real Madrid Castilla and won the Segunda Division in 2012, then joined Real Madrid senior team where he won La Liga, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana and the UEFA Champions League. He then moved to Italy in 2014 and won the Serie A with Juve and the Coppa Italia.
