Cristiano Ronaldo found a way to lead Real Madrid to an eleventh UEFA Champions League title. The Portuguese ace scored the final penalty for Los Blancos during an excruciating shootout, but even if many expected him to step up and shoot the first one, he revealed why he chose to take the final one.
"I had a vision. I knew that I would score the winning goal. I told Zizou that to let me take the fifth penalty, and that's how things turned out," Cristiano Ronaldo stated.
The Portuguese ace, who showed signs of fatigue for the more than an hour, went on and talked about how his team-mates' experience was too much for Atlético to handle.
"This is a very special moment for us. We wanted to win it, but we knew that it wouldn't be easy. Ultimately, when the penalty shootout arrived, we showed that we have a bit more experience and I think we deserved to win it,"Ronaldo added.
And of course, he celebrated in his usual fashion.
