The white-and-red side keeps getting in shape for the Copa América Centenario. Don't miss their warmup game against El Salvador

With Copa América Centenario just around the corner, Perú needs to prepare properly for what could be an intense competition for them. Being paired up with Brazil, Ecuador and Haiti in Group B of the competition, Ricardo Gareca's crew will have a warmup game against El Salvador, a team that is also very interested in making a lasting impression against Los Franjirrojos.

After their third-place finish in last year's tournament, Perú hasn't been as effective in their recent games, struggling to win in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. Gareca's men have only won one match in the South American qualifiers, keeping them away from World Cup ticket spots. Gareca might use this game to find a suitable partner for Paolo Guerrero, given the absences of Jefferson Farfán and Claudio Pizarro.

On the other side of the pitch, the Central American team hasn't been as shining as their fans would like. Despite coach Raul Maradiaga's efforts, Los Cuscatlecos are currently ranked fourth out of four teams in the CONCACAF WC Qualifiers Group B, with barely no chances of making it to the next round. The former Honduras coach will try to find some solutions to the team's drought, considering they haven't been able to win a game since September of 2015.
