Former Red Devil legend Paul Scholes jokes about future Man United boss Jose Mourinho finally coaching a 'proper club.'

After two disappointing seasons at Old Trafford under the leadership of Louis van Gaal, the Portuguese manager will take charge of the English side with the official announcement coming later on this week.

Scholes, who won 11 league titles and two Champions Leagues during a 20-year career at Old Trafford,  believes that the former Real Madrid, Porto, Chelsea and Inter-Milan boss must bring entertaining football back at Manchester. Achieving major silverware is also crucial in order to get the fans on his side. However, Mourinho is quite good at doing that, as he has managed to secure several honors as a coach in all of his previous clubs.

Jose-Mourinho

In a recent interview with TalkSport, the ex-midfielder talked about if the former Chelsea chief will fit the job, saying:

"We all thought Van Gaal was a good fit two years ago, and it didn't quite happen for him. Mourinho has obviously managed big clubs before. Now he has come to a proper big club, and there is expectation there.

"He has messed around with these Mickey Mouse clubs - Real, Madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan - and now it looks like he is coming to a proper football club. I'm only joking, of course!

"He has managed big clubs, and he has got a track record of winning trophies.

"United should be challenging for trophies but it is the style of football that has been the big problem for the last two years and if he can get players in that are likely to entertain then the fans will be happy."

Can Jose Mourinho return Manchester United to their glory days?
