The domestic leagues are over, but the Europa League final is yet to be played, as the Reds and Los Hispalenses gear up to lock horns on Wednesday in Basel.

The domestic leagues in Europe have all ended, but the Europa League final is yet to be played, as Liverpool and Sevilla gear up for an epic clash in Basel.

Two of the competition's most successful side, Jurgen Klopp seeks to win silverware in his debut season at Anfield, whilst Unai Emery looks to clinch yet another European title with his Spanish side.

Only one side can win, though. Who'll come out victorious in the final?

Team news – who’ fit and who’s not?

Liverpool's injury worries could take a turn for the best, as captain Jordan Henderson (knee) returned from the sidelines in the club's clah with West Brom, ending a five-week lay-off. Striker Divock Origi is in contention to feature, as he appears to have recovered from an ankle injury, but Mamadou Sakho remains suspended.

Sevilla also have a few worries in the injury department, as Michael Krohn-Dehli (knee) and Jose Antonio Reyes (appendix) are the only two key players expected to miss Wednesday's game.

Head to head

Wednesday’s clash between Liverpool and Sevilla will be the English Premier League and La Liga sides first ever competitive meeting, and there is no better stage than the final in Basel.

The Reds are familiar with Spanish clubs, having overcome Villarreal 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-final to book their ticket in the ultimate game. However, manager Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to overcome a recent bad form in finals, having lost his last four – one in the Champions League, two in the DFB-Pokal, and the most recent being their Capital One Cup defeat to Man City on penalties.

The Merseyside giants have met Spanish oppositions in a European competition final on two occasions, against Real Madrid in the European Cup (1981) and Alaves in the UEFA Cup (2001)

Unai Emery’s crew, backed by an in form Kevin Gameiro and his seven goals this season, look to lift the coveted trophy for a record third straight time, but will face a team which have won 8 of their last 11 major European finals.

However, Los Hispalenses boast a mixed form against English sides, having won only three times in their eight encounters (D3, L2).
