Wenger has reacted to rumors linking him with a new contract at the Emirates.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has finally addressed rumors making rounds on various media outlets that he is set to sign yet another contract with the North London club. The 66-year-old, who was visibly angered by the rumors, explained that he will make a decision about his future with the Gunners at the end of the season.

The former Monaco boss is now heading towards the final year left on his contract, but is under intense pressure to resign following the club’s trophy league trophy drought.

The North Londoners have not won the league in 12 years and have not clinched the Champions League even once in their history despite qualifying for the European tournament 20 times under the French tactician.

Speaking to the media ahead of the final league game of the season against relegated Aston Villa, an infuriated Wenger explained:

“It is completely wrong [the rumors].

"I don’t know where this comes from. You can treat that as an invention.

"It is absolutely false. They could have checked with the club and it would have been denied.

"I think about the next game. I have full commitment for as long as I am under contract.”

He then added:

"What I focus on is to respect my contract and envisage what I will do after. I understand people are interested in that but it's not important?

"I will see where the club stands at the end of my contract.”

He also admitted that despite failing to win the league title this season, he was targeting a second-place finish this weekend.

"It was a strange season and we finish disappointed.

"We had a chance to win the title and we are frustrated. It is a missed opportunity.

"Leicester had consistent results and everybody else had ups and downs.

"We want to finish as high as possible and in front of Spurs.

"Ideally, we want to get in front of them."

Their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur currently occupy the second spot with 70 points, two behind Wenger’s men. The Gunners will finish second if they beat Aston Villa and hope Spurs will lose against Newcastle, who have also been relegated.
