Cristiano Ronaldo appearance in London has raised eyebrows in England.

Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted in London last Tuesday, an appearance that has sparked transfer speculations across British press. The 31-year-old was spotted leaving Marylebone’s famous celebrity chill spot the Chiltern Firehouse flanked by a hawk-eyed bodyguard.Ronaldo in London

British publication The Sun questioned his appearance at the capital at a time when Los Blancos were preparing for a crunch tie against Deportivo this weekend. A win for Zidane’s men and a draw or defeat for Barca against Granada will take the league title to the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo in London

One would obviously expect that the likes of Ronaldo, who is La Liga’s second top scorer with 33 goals, would be busy in training or zero-grazing around Madrid ahead the crucial encounter but that was not the case.

The newspaper quotes an eye-witness as saying:

"He [Ronaldo] looked relaxed and walked freely between Signor Sassi and Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge.

"From the way they were walking it looked as though they'd just left Signor Sassi, but I couldn't say for sure.

"The restaurant is pretty swanky and the perfect place to have a discreet meeting.''Ronaldo in London

He added:

"He was flanked by two big bodyguards and accompanied by another man, possibly a friend.

"Although he was wearing sunglasses, I still knew it was him.

"It's not often you bump into Ronaldo, so I asked one of his bodyguards if I could take a picture but he told me "not now.

"You have to ask the question what was he doing in London so close to the title-deciding crunch match in La Liga and also so close to Chelsea?

"Was it a coincidence his bodyguard was wearing a blue shirt?"

Could the former Man United man be plotting a return to the Premier League? Did he visit London for leisure or to hold secret meetings for a possible transfer? These are some of the questions lingering in the minds of many fans of the lethal forward.
