The final La Liga weekend of the 2015/16 is here and all eyes will be on Barcelona and Real Madrid for obvious reasons; the title!

There is every reason to watch this final La Liga showdown at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes. This crunch clash comes at a time when Barcelona need three points if they are to be declared Champions of La Liga this season. Sitting at the top of the table with 88 points, Luis Enrique’s men are well aware of the fact that if they drop points in this match and their rivals Real Madrid win against Deportivo, then the league title will head to the Santiago Bernabeu.

But the Catalan giants put themselves in this situation. Some few months ago, they were leading the table with more than eight points, only to squander their lead following a series of draws and defeats immediately after El Clasico in February. Now the Blaugrana now are left with no other choice than winning this fixture because after all, their impressive run this season will not matter if they let the pot break at their doorstep.

On the other hand, their rivals Real have refused to let go the title race, even after their neighbours Atletico bowed out last weekend following their shocking defeat to Levante. Now Zinedine Zidane’s men need to win their last game against Deportivo and keep their fingers crossed hoping for a Barca slip-up at Los Carmenes.

Another reason to watch this match is the latest scandal making headlines across Spain; Real Madrid have been accused of planning to bribe Granada players, in a bid to charge them up to steal points from Barca. Granada goalkeeper Ivan Kelava, who was dragged into the whole confusion for allegedly revealing the shocking plot, denied the claims but it seems the damage has already been done. All eyes will be on this match as football fans, executives and match officials try to comb any traces of match fixing, bribery and related crimes.

On paper, Barcelona clearly have the upper hand by virtue of being title contenders, and the fact that Granada have nothing to lose in this fixture. They already survived relegation after beating Sevilla last weekend, and this match could have little or no impact at all to the team.

Match forecast

Even though Barca are in dire need of a win, they will not get it that easily if Sevilla’s 4-1 beating in the hands of the Nazaries was anything to go by. Interestingly, the hosts are becoming quite sturbbon at home. Prior to beating Sevilla, they had also beaten Las Palmas at home, something that should give Luis Enrique’s men a reason to be worried. Additionally, the hosts have not lost any of their last six home matches in the league this season.

FCB are the top scoring club in Europe’s top five leagues right now, so you should expect more than 2.5 goals in this fixture. They have also won eight of their last 10 away games in the league, and eight of their last nine meetings against Granada in all competitions. Expect Barcelona to win this one with a huge scoreline.
