The Colombian striker wasn't able to establish himself as the goal scoring threat of old neither with Manchester United nor with Chelsea.

Two seasons after starting what has been quite an unsuccessful adventure with top English teams, Radamel Falcao is ready to call it quits.

The Colombian striker, who wasn't able to recover his old form with Manchester United and Chelsea, confirmed today he will leave the Blues this summer.

"Chelsea officers came to me in February and informed me my services would no longer be required, so, I will leave when the season ends. I need playing time, I need minutes, and once I get them, let's see what happens," Falcao told SkySports.

Falcao has only played 14 minutes of football this season, during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat against Swansea in April.

Although his future was linked to Chinese, Mexican and Argentinean clubs, the former Atlético Madrid striker revealed where he will be playing once the 2016 Copa América Centenario comes to a close.

"I'll go back to Monaco. They made quite an investment to sign me, and they want to see that investment paying off, so I will play for them next season. Monaco's execs want to keep me around for a year, and then I may end up playing somewhere else," the South American added.

During his two seasons in the EPL, Falcao was only able to score five goals in 36 games, most of them as a sub. This season, "El Tigre" has only played 10 Premier League games. His only start this season came back in October, in a game that Chelsea lost against Southampton.
