Real Madrid's former goalkeeper Casillas is still hurt for the way he was sent-off by his long-time club but paid his thanks to full-back Arbeloa.

Iker Casillas only had words of praise for his former team-mate Alvaro Arbeloa after the 33-year old played his last match as a Madrid player on Sunday. However, the Porto shot-stopper made it clear that he deserved a similar farewell when he left the Spanish giants last summer.

Casillas uploaded a video on social media paying his thanks to the full-back, as well as aiming a dart at Madrid for the poor manner of his send-off.

"Every Real Madrid player deserves this kind of send off, with their team-mates, with the fans.”

The Spanish keeper had a controversial exit after he appeared in a press conference back on July 12, saying his goodbyes to the club and the fans on his own without any type of homage from the club. This sparked a media outburst, as the club quickly arranged an event the next day displaying his 19 trophies he won with the team. However, it surely was not sufficient enough for such an important figure, as the veteran keeper's exit was criticised widely by the public.

Regardless the former Madrid man only had nice words for outgoing defender Arbeloa.

He added: “Alvaro was a product of the youth academy who had to go elsewhere to prove he had quality to return and play for Real Madrid. I’m grateful for everything Arbeloa has given to Madrid and I wish him all the best ahead of this new chapter in his life."
