Barcelona are set to face two of England’s most improved clubs this season.

European giants FC Barcelona are set to face English champions Leicester City and Europa League finalists Liverpool for a friendly match.

The Spanish giants recently confirmed that they would face The Foxes on August 3 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, and then face Jurgen Klopp’s men three days later at a yet-to-be-decided venue.

Their first pre-season match will be against Scottish giants Celtic in Dublin as part of the International Champions Cup. Interestingly, the Blaugrana could face Liverpool as the Europa League champions if Klopp’s men triumph over Sevilla in Basel on May 18th.

Having wrapped up the league title already, the Foxes will be hoping to announce their arrival in Europe with a bang when they face the current Champions League defending champions. This fixture would also give the likes of Riyad Mahrez, who has been consistently linked with a move to Catalonia to join the La Liga giants, a chance to shine against his would-be employers. Although he has been insisting that he would love to stay with the Foxes next season, there is no harm in showing his suitors the kind of quality he is made of.

On the other hand, the Kops have faced Los Blaugrana eight times in their history, most recently in 2007 when the Spaniards secured a 1-0 win in their UEFA Champions League fixture. This would also give Luis Suarez the chance to reunite with his former team mates on the pitch since his move to Nou Camp from Anfield back in 2014.

The lethal forward has been in sensational form for FCB since his arrival, and could once again lead them to the league title this weekend when they face Granada for their last match of the season. The 29-year-old has scored 50 goals in 45 appearances this season in all competitions, and provided 19 assists.
