Diego Simeone has done it again, reaching the Champions League final for the second time in three years.

Regardless of the 2-1 scoreline at the Allianz Arena, Atletico Madrid beat the German giants on away goals, as the Spanish side is bound to make history this year. French striker Antoine Griezmann, whose 54th-minute goal led his team to the finals, admitted that Pep Guardiola's lads were the better side in the second leg.

Speaking after the dramatic match, the 25-year old expressed the importance of their 1-0 win back home at the Vincente Calderon.

Griezmann-Atletico-Madrid

"They were better than us today, but we won the first leg and that's it, we scored an away goal, and that was most important. But we have to keep our feet on the ground."

"We are happy. It was difficult, a complicated game. There was a great team in front of us, and we had to defend, so we had to try and get a goal and that's what we did."

Diego Simeone's men will face the winners of Wednesday's clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the anticipated Champions League final held in Milan.

Now that Los Rojiblancos have their ticket to the final, the question remains, can Griezmann and Co. finally achieve European glory under Simeone's leadership?
