The outgoing Spanish tactician gave his thoughts on what fuels his critics.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is a manager who has won everything by the age of 45, having lifted the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, La Liga and Copa del Rey in Spain, and the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal in Germany.

It is this success, this impressive list of accolades at such a young age that has given rise to the hate he faces, claims the Spanish tactician, as he prepares his team for an all-important midweek game in Europe.

The former Barca boss spoke to the press in the lead up to their 2nd leg tie with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, as the Bavarians need to overturn a 1-0 deficit in order to book their ticket to the final.

The Man City-bound manager took heat for his decision to bench Thomas Muller for the Vicente Calderon defeat, but Guardiola feels it to be nothing but critique fueled by jealousy over his achievements.

"The problem people have with me is that I've won so many titles. An hour before the game you'll see who will start," Guardiola said, as per Marca.

"We have to interpret each game scenario and play according to our philosophy. In Madrid, we didn't lose because Muller didn't start and his presence isn't the only thing that will determine Tuesday's outcome."

Pep will have to rally his squad, as he aims to win European club football’s top prize before departing the Allianz Arena for the Etihad. The Bundesliga holders head into Tuesday’s game with an amazing home record, boasting a two-year unbeaten run.

However, their last defeat at home did come at the hand of a Madrid side, with Los Blancos winning 4-0 en route to La Decima. Diego Simeone’s boys will be keen on emulating their neighbors, as they aim to reach their 2nd Champions League final in two years.
