Two perennial London rivals are set to lock horns at the Stamford Bridge today in a do-or-die battle.

Chelsea come into this match with the pressure to win following Eden Hazard’s and Cesc Fabregas’s recent comments regarding the title chase. The two Chelsea stars openly confessed that they would love to see Leicester City winning the league title, and that the Blues would do all it takes to kick Spurs out of the race. Spurs, on the other hand, are in dire need of a win in order to keep up with the title race, following The Foxes’ 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. A win for Spurs will increase their chance of taking the title race to the wire. However, a defeat of any kind will hand Claudio Ranieri’s men their first ever league title.

Having secured a Champions League spot already, the White Hart Lane outfit have their eyes set on the league title. Although their chances of winning the title are still slow considering the fact that Leicester need just two points to clinch the coveted trophy, Pochettino’s men will be banking on the fact that in football, anything is possible.

The Foxes host Everton at the King Power Stadium next weekend in a match that will mark the return of their top goal-poacher Jamie Vardy who was serving a two-match ban. After that, they will end their season at the Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. Those two remaining fixtures are not that quite easy for the King Power outfit, something that gives Spurs some flashes of hope.

Unfortunately for Pochettino’s men, they may be good on paper against Chelsea this season, but they have never taken three points from the Blues at Stamford Bridge since 1990. In fact, The west London club has not lost against Spurs in their last 19 home matches in all competitions. Additionally, Guus Hiddink’s men come into this fixture following a morale-boosting 4-1 win over Bournemouth, something that gives them the much-needed inspiration to cruise past their next door neighbors.

On the other hand, Spurs have an impressive record away from home this season; they have lost just one of their last 16 away league games, and are looking forward to bouncing back from the one-all draw against The Baggies last Monday.

Team news

Chelsea

Asmir Begovic is expected to start in between the posts for the hosts, with Eden Hazard leading the hunt for goals up front. Gary Cahill could return to help Branislav Ivanovic at the defence. Captain John Terry is also expected to return for the hosts.

Tottenham Hotspur

Dele Allie is set to miss this clash due to suspension, but he could be replaced by Ryan Mason at the midfield.
