Pellegrini admitted after the 0-0 draw that the Spanish playmaker will likely miss next week’s return fixture.

It looks like Real Madrid aren’t the only side battling with injury doubts to key players ahead of the Champions League 2nd leg semi-final clash with Man City, as the Citizens appear to have lost David Silva for the return fixture.

The English Premier League giants lost their Spanish playmaker to injury late in the second half en route to the 0-0 draw, with manager Manuel Pellegrini admitting after the final whistle that the 30-year-old stands little chance of recovering in time for the Santiago Bernabeu game next week.

The Chilean boss said: “David Silva has suffered a hamstring strain. It will be hard for him to recover in one week.”

This comes after Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane's confession that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema may not recover in time from their thigh strain for next Wednesday's fixture.
