Las Águilas took home a two-goal lead from Tigres' home turf, but André-Pierre Gignac's side will put up a fight to try and shock the hosts.

The CONCACAF Champions League will be one for the ages tomorrow, as Club América and Tigres battle for the top honor. The hosts will try to become the most-winning side in the tournament's history with six trophies, while the team from the North side of Mexico tries to shock Las Águilas by winning the competition for the first time.

These teams know each other very well, as they are two of the most consistent teams in the Mexican top flight. Club América recently established a record for most consecutive playoff berths in the domestic tournament, while this is the fifth final matchup Tigres will play in the last couple of years.

Last week, América stepped out and defeated Tigres with goals by Darío Benedetto and Osvaldo Martínez. The team coached by Ricardo Ferretti has been able to fight back against the hosts in similar circumstances, and the only thing to watch right now is if they are capable of doing it again.

Here are last week's highlights.

Club América

Last week's win for Ignacio Ambriz's crew was one to remember, as the team entered the pitch without eight regular players. Right back Paul Aguilar, midfielder Michael Arroyo and striker Darwin Quintero were among the notable absences Las Águilas carried to that match, but in the end their substitutes delivered a quality performance.

Coach Ambriz will be highly interested in winning this game, as he has endured harsh criticism from fans and media, who thought he wasn't the right coach for a team as América.

Striker Darwin Quintero is still gunning for the tournament's goal scoring title.

Tigres UANL

It's do or die time for Ricardo Ferreti's crew, as they try to save face following their appalling performance last week. During the knockout stages of the tournament, the Monterrey-based team hasn't been able to win a single away match, drawing against Real Salt Lake (1-1) and Club Querétaro (0-0). With that in mind, Gignac & Co. will need to step up their game if they mean business against the Mexico City side.

As we mentioned earlier, this is Tigres' fifth final series in the last couple of years. Tigres has won two of those final matches, but the ones they lost had them as an away team during the second leg of each series, against América in the Apertura 2014 final & facing River Plate in the 2015 Copa Libertadores.

Gignac will be the go-to guy for Tigres, as he has scored the team's most recent three goals in the tournament.
