Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez has finally opened up about the rumors linking him with a move to French giants PSG. The Algeria international has been in sizzling form this season and is fresh from being crowned the PFA Player of the Year 2015/16.
Thanks to his great performance this season, the Foxes are now leading the Premier League table with 7 points, and need three more points to be declared the Champions of England.
The 25-year-old, who was on target last weekend during Leicester's 4-0 thumping of Swansea, has attracted the interest of European bigwigs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. However, during a recent interview with French magazine Onze Mondial, he dismissed the PSG talk. He explained:
"They (PSG) have become a very big club. PSG have proper players and the club is in the process of building a monster of a thing
"Even today, I am not too excited about the prospect of PSG. It is my town, but I do not see myself going back there.
"I don't really want to go back to France. France does not really excite me, I love England."
The former Le Havre man is said to have turned down offers to join French giants PSG and Olympic Marseille back in 2010 and six years later, he does not seem to have changed his mind. Since joining the Foxes in 2014, he has scored 24 goals in 83 appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s men. This season alone, he has scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists in 34 appearances for the King Power Stadium outfit, a true indication of the resurgence and hunger for league glory.
