The most recent event occurred last Sunday evening when a fan entered the pitch and viciously attacked the assistant referee. Linesman, Volkan Bayarslan was unexpectedly assaulted by a home fan during the Turkish Super Lig football match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce, which led to the abandonment of the game.

The Trabzonspor's supporter ran onto the pitch and began punching the official until the security staff tackled him. Regardless, the match was instantly suspended, which ended in Fenerbahce beating the home side 4-0. Turkish football officials will be awarding the win to the away side while Trabzonspor will most probably face a punishment due to this insane incident.
