Nicklas Bendtner is no longer a Wolfsburg employee.

German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have terminated Nicklas Bendtner’s contract on mutual agreement. The former Arsenal man joined the German outfit two seasons ago, but has had a series of controversies and bad blood with the club. 

The 28-year-old had a contract running up the end of next season, but after a series of disciplinary issues, which include oversleeping, missing training, and taking photos next to a Mercedes Benz, which is a violation of the club’s terms given that Volkswagen are the official club sponsors and Mercedes’ fierce competitors.Bendtner poses next to a Mercedes Benz

During his stay with the Wolves, he made 47 appearances in all competitions, and scored nine appearances. The club broke the news through their sporting director, Klaus Allofs. He said:

“To continue [with Bendtner] would not have made sense. Therefore the decision to end this deal is the best solution for everyone. We wish Nicklas all the best for his future career.”
