Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi opened the scoring against Sporting Gijon in a tightly contested match at the Nou Camp on Saturday. The Argentine capitalized on a defensive lapse to head in a rebound inside the box. However, by the time the 29-year-old made contact with the ball, the Sporting Gijon goalkeeper was already on the ground writhing in pain from a Luis Suarez tackle. Surprisingly, the referee still allowed the goal, despite the protests from angry Gijon players.
