Manchester United travel to Goodison Park to face an Everton side that is still fresh from the 4-0 thrashing in the hands of their bitter rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last Wednesday. The Toffees and the Red Devils are in not in the race for the Premier League title or any other title apart from the FA Cup. Hence, fans should expect a thrilling encounter as these two sides try their best to outdo each other in a bid to end the season with silverware.
The two sides are meeting for the third time in the semi-final of the FA Cup. When they first met in 1966, Everton won by a solitary goal from Colin Harvey. The Red Devils will have to keep their eye on Everton’s hitman Romelu Lukaku, who has scored in each of his five FA Cup games, and has a goal tally of six so far in this competition. Another factor that should give LVG’s men a reason to worry is that, the Toffees have proceeded to the finals in six of their last seven FA Cup semi-final appearances.
