The Croatian midfielder capped a brilliant performance with Los Blancos by putting to good use a cross by Danilo.

Things seemed to get tough for Real Madrid, but Luka Modric helped the team to seal a hard-fought win with a skillful finish against Villarreal.

The Croatian midfielder, one of the most influential players for Zidane's crew, managed to cap his massive performance against the Yellow Submarine with a left-footed volley. As Danilo crossed the ball looking for Cristiano Ronaldo, his attempt found Modric's leg and the ball found its way into the back of the net.

This was Modric's first goal at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium since May 2013. Real Madrid had scored 265 goals since the Croatian found the back of the net at Los Blancos' ground.
