With La Liga's title race on fire, Barcelona and Atletico face two complicated away games against Deportivo and Athletic. Don't miss them with our guide below.

Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are the two top contenders to win La Liga, and they will continue their struggle to do so this Wednesday in two excruciating ties against teams that become stronger while playing at home. Los Blaugranas will try to put an end to their three-game losing streak in La Liga against Deportivo, while Atlético travels to Bilbao to face Athletic, in a game that will need Simeone's men to put every ounce of talent in their bodies.

Los Culés and Los Colchoneros get to this game tied at 76 points, but La Liga's criteria to determine the champion give Luis Enrique's men a slight advantage over Atlético, having won both games between them this season.

Deportivo - Barcelona

This game will be the one to kick-off an action-packed Wednesday in La Liga, and Barcelona's prospects of winning this match are not what they used to be. Deportivo sits in the 13th spot of La Liga's standings, but they can brag about the fact that they were one of the few teams not to lose a single game against Los Blaugranas in 2015. Both meetings between el Depor and Los Blaugranas ended with similar 2-2 results, with the added bonus of winning both points at Camp Nou Stadium.

This game will be a good test for Barcelona in order to determine their chances of winning the title. After being knocked out from the UEFA Champions League, and with some players showing poor form recently, Luis Enrique's men are now forced to add three points to their tally, or else they will end up losing a title that seemed to be in the bag a month ago.

For this game, Deportivo will not have four players available, including goalkeeper German Lux due to injury, while Alberto Lopo and Alejandro Arribas will miss this game after being suspended. On the other hand, Luis Enrique will have a few problems in the back, as Jeremy Mathieu & Thomas Vermaelen are out due to injury, while Gerard Pique will have to serve a one match ban for accumulating another yellow card.

Furthermore, Neymar could be banned to play this game after slapping one of Valencia's men after Los Blaugranas lost on Sunday. His absence could be confirmed in the upcoming hours.

Athletic Club vs Atlético Madrid

45 minutes after Barcelona's game has started, Atlético will try to keep up their good form while visiting Athletic Club, one of the toughest teams to beat in the Spanish top flight. Los Colchoneros enter this game riding a three-game winning streak in La Liga, and have not lost a single game against Athletic in their last six meetings, including their three most recent visits to Los Leones' home.

Despite their distinguished guests, Ernesto Valverde's side can't afford losing ground in their quest to earn one more Europa League spot for next season, after missing out on the tournament's semi finals last Thursday. Taking under consideration league games only, the hosts have only lost one of their last six games, but their form could suffer a huge blow after Aritz Aduriz picked up an injury against Sevilla last Thursday, which could complicate their performance against the Spanish capital team.

On the other hand, Simeone's men have endured a long season without major injuries, with the exception of midfielder Tiago. For this game, the Argentinean coach will have to make do without captain Gabi, who will have to sit this one out after picking up a yellow card against Granada, but with in-form strikers such as Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres, the team's chances of success increase by the minute.
