Barcelona star Lionel Messi has finally scored his 500th career goal.

After a five-match run without a goal, Lionel Messi finally scored his 500th career goal when Barcelona faced Valencia in a tense La Liga match at Nou Camp. The Argentine was on target in the 65th minute as the Catalan giants were trailing by two goals against Los Che. Although Los Blaugrana lost the match 2-1, a result that blew the title race wide open, it was almost impossible to ignore Messi's commendable achievement for both his club and country.
