Ahead of the big UEL tie between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, LiveSoccerTV.com takes a quick look at some stats and facts.

Later today, one of the biggest quarter-final ties of this season's Europa League will kick off. The first leg between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, dubbed the "Klopp Derby" finished as a 1-1 stalemate, meaning that part two at Anfield will indeed be a closely-contested affair that could go either way.

We here at LiveSoccerTV.com know you all just can not wait for the big game this evening (or afternoon, depending on where you are based). So, to keep you on your toes, we have put together a quick list of some interesting stats and facts leading up to today's colossal clash that surely will not disappoint. How many of these did you already know in advance?

1. Liverpool are absolutely perfect at home

At least when it comes to playing German opposition. Liverpool have, to date, never lost to a team from Germany whilst playing on their home turf. As per UEFA.com, this comes out to 15 matches played, with 12 wins and three draws. Will they make that a 16th sans defeat under Jurgen Klopp later today?

2.  On the cusp of making history

The Reds so far have gone 11 games in this Europa League campaign without a loss, with four wins and seven draws to date. They are the only team to have achieved this in this season's tournament, and should they avoid defeat today, they will become the first side to complete 12 matches without defeat in a single Europa League campaign.

3. Liverpool's away blessings

Draw on the road, progress to the next round. Sounds pretty straightforward. Especially if you're Liverpool. In 12 out of their past 13 European two-legged matches, if the Reds manage to draw away from Anfield, they have managed to get to the next phase of the competition. The only bogey man was Scottish side Celtic, who managed to thwart them back in 2003 by beating them 2-0 at Anfield after a 1-1 draw in Glasgow.

4. Dortmund's away hoodoo

Well, sort off. When die Schwarzgelben draw the first leg of a European tie at home, it spells doom for them. In five out of their past six ties, they have been eliminated. Last week saw them have to settle for a one-all stalemate against Liverpool, so they will be fighting against the odds tonight at Anfield.

5. A perfect year for die Schwarzgelben

Did we mention, though, that Thomas Tuchel's men are still unbeaten - across all competitions - in 2016? Try thinking of any other top side in Europe, in the continent's "Big 5" leagues that can boast to that. Can't come up with any? That is because there are none. Not Barcelona, Bayern, Juventus, Manchester City, or PSG. Nope. And that even includes Premier League surprise packages Leicester City. They lost to Arsenal on Valentine's Day.

6. Do not expect a scoreless draw when Dortmund's in town

Dortmund have not been held to a scoreless stalemate in their past 37 European matches. So, at the very least, someone will likely score this evening, which surely will be a big relief for fans and neutral observers alike - but obviously for supporters, they will naturally be hoping it is their team finding the back of the net!
